ContentActive Welcomes Ken Myers as Chief Product Engineer
ContentActive is thrilled to announce a new addition to the ContentActive team – Ken Myers, a seasoned professional with decades of experience in the Houston tech and startup scene. Ken will play a pivotal role in ContentActive's growing enterprise software development business and expansion/launches of its SaaS solutions: checkins.app, epollbooks.app and tracers.io.
Ken's Impressive Journey
Ken's journey in the tech world began at WhiteFence.com, where he served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). WhiteFence was a pioneering platform for home services, simplifying the process of connecting and disconnecting utilities when people moved homes. During his time at WhiteFence, Ken developed an EAI platform that streamlined order delivery across more than 250 provider systems. Working with industry giants like Verizon, AT&T, Xfinity, and Sprint, he gained extensive knowledge of enterprise systems and collaboration within large organizations. The technology stack at WhiteFence heavily relied on Java and open-source technologies.
Ken's next venture took him to an online education lead generation company, which later became HigherEducation.com. As the President and COO, Ken played a pivotal role in scaling the organization from its small beginnings to over 150 employees. His innovative approach led the company to send leads directly to colleges and universities, bypassing lead aggregators like Quinstreet and eLearners. This move increased profitability and eventually resulted in a successful acquisition by Red Ventures. Higher Education's technology backbone heavily featured WordPress for destination websites and PHP in a traditional LAMP stack for backend systems.
Following the success of HigherEducation.com, Ken turned his attention to incubating various technology startups. His ventures spanned the online childcare industry, including eNannySource.com, GoNannies.com, and MorningsideNannies.com. Ken also collaborated with Houston's tech leaders to create FanReact.com, Mainline.gg, and several other startups, many of which continue to flourish. These startups relied on Microsoft technologies, utilizing the full .NET stack, embracing continuous delivery, and implementing DevOps practices on cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS. Frontend development featured frameworks like React, Angular, and others.
Ken's expertise led him to Credera, where he served as a Senior Architect, consulting on diverse client projects. He excelled in technology-agnostic stacks, handling integrations with Office365, and diving into functional languages like Scala. Ken also played a pivotal role in client sales calls and contributed to building and training the Houston office of Credera. His engagements included clients like Chili's, Southwest Airlines, and Centerpoint Energy.
Ken's journey led him to ContentActive after the acquisition of his last technology startup, ShyftMoving. At Shyft, Ken served as the CTO, overseeing product, data, and development teams. He streamlined the technology stack, merged mobile applications, and revamped CRM systems. Ken also led AI-driven initiatives for call center support, web chat, and pricing models. Shyft's technology stack featured a Vue.js frontend, native mobile apps, and several .NET Core backend services.
